Pet Memorials

Pet Memorials (10)

We know that every person grieves differently, Hockaday Funeral Home’s More than Just a Pet Crematory will work closely with your entire family to plan the most perfect service for your pet.

In addition to pet cremation, we carry a nice selection of urns. For those owners who would like more options to choose from, we also have a waterproof urn that can be buried.

We encourage you to have a Family Goodbye or hold a memorial ceremony in honor of your pet. Our staff is available to help your family create the perfect tribute to reflect your pet’s life. Our We Remember (link here) page offers you the opportunity to memorialize your cherished friend by telling their story through words and special pictures.

Jobe Gallagher

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

JOBE GALLAGHER

OCT. 2004-FEB. 2011

You were abandoned and abused and left all alone, just to defend for yourself when all you really

wanted was to be fed, sheltered, loved, and have a loving home.  A loving person whom We know so well, found you and brought you to us to become a part of our loving family.  You were a little rough around the edges when you first arrived, as well as being a little shy.  It didn’t take long though before you became to ease and was always at our side.  You were your mother’s shadow and your daddy’s baby boy.  There were no boundaries when it came to you, somehow or another you always got your way, We assume it was the look in your eyes you always gave that said to us please, please, please.  We shared so much with you through the years; each and every day was so special with you and for us.  You brought so much joy and happiness into our life with your presence.  So many memories of you we will forever cherish and so many we will miss.  The way we could hear you come across the wooden floors, the way you curled up to us when we slept and took over the bed or just the simple little things you would do to make us laugh:  The way you would shake your head and ring your bell and wake daddy up.  You were the essence of a faithful, loyal and loving companion to us; you were so perfect, so full of life, love and energy, until your sickness took you away from us.  Our lives will never be the same without your presence, but you will always be remembered and loved.  Although you have gone to a much better place, where you will be strong and young again, our words can never express how much you will be missed, and just how much love you brought into our hearts.  Our love for you Jobe, is forever eternal and we pray that life is good for you in Rainbow Bridge.  You are our baby boy.

We would sincerely like to thank David Boswell and Jay Carlisle for the wonderful service they provided for our beloved Jobe.  We appreciate everything that you did for us.

Harley

Written by Terry Wheeler
On March 20, 2011 my family and I lost one of the most precious creatures to us.  Harley was one special dog that had an amazing story.  Harley was born with Aortic Sternosis and the doctors told us that he would not live to see six months old.  On May 10th, Harley would have been seven years old.  He tricked and fooled all of us.  Harley had more spirit and heart than most humans could ever know.

Testimonial- Brennan Family

Written by Terry Wheeler

Dear Mr. Boswell:

As you well know, I lost my faithful companion and best friend (they are not only man’s) recently, my dog Ben.

My thoughtful daughter, Kelly, (unknown to me) arranged to have Ben cremated.  You treated her with dignity and compassion.  When Ben’s time came, and she notified you, your response was immediate and you stayed in communication until she picked up his ashes.  You also went the extra mile and delivered Ben’s name plate to our home.

Rest assured that anyone who loses a dear pet will be advised by us to seek your services.

Thank you again,

Sincerely

Nancy A. Brennan and Family

Testimonial- Dickens Family

Written by Terry Wheeler

Dear David,

We would like to let you know how very pleased our family was with More Than Just a Pet Cremations services.  Our 15 year old Lab, Skip, passed away on April 7th.  He was one of our family.  He grew up with our boys.  The loss was much harder on us than we expected.  Your kindness and phone calls to see if we needed anything was much appreciated.  You even offered to pick Skip up from his home and return him, to make it easier on us.  Thanks so much for your prompt service.  Skip only spent one night away from home.  Now he proudly sits on our mantle, overlooking his special chair.  I see him on the mantle and smile.  Skip is back home where he belongs!

Thank you for everything!

Sincerely

Robin & Buck Dickens, Cody Dickens, Kevin & Ashley Dickens

Testimonial- Council Family

Written by Terry Wheeler

Dear Mr. Boswell:

On February 10, 1996 we adopted Topsy into our family.  She immediately became one of us and the “Queen” of her room.  March 24, 2010 we made the heart-breaking decision to end Topsy’s suffering.  Since she was more than a pet to us we decided to have Topsy cremated, rather than a backyard burial.  The services provided by Jay Carlisle and David Boswell of More Than Just a Pet Cremations were outstanding.  They came to the vet’s office and picked Topsy up thus alleviating us having to deal with more stress than necessary.  On one of the hardest days of our lives we were treated with dignity we felt she deserved.  Her remains were received in just a few days in a beautiful urn and today she is still the “Queen” of her room as her remains sit on a shelf over looking all of us.

Thank you Jay and David for being there for us on a very difficult day.

Bo

Written by David Boswell

The last Friday in January 2010 was a day of sadness and one that will be remembered as the day a true friend was lost.  That was the day my ole coon hound, Bo, was killed.  What can you say about a best friend/pet?  He knew everything about me and still loved me.  This is truly a showing of unconditional love.  We as the two-legged, need to learn this kind of love from our pets.
