Frank "Buddy" Hudson was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids. After high school and business school he went to work with North Carolina Power. He transferred to Virginia Power in 1956

and retired after 40 years of service and moved back to Roanoke Rapids in 1986. He was active in the Lions Club, Southfax Sertoma, American Red Cross, and the Boy Scouts of South Rosemary Baptist Church. Buddy was married to the late Margie Warrick.  He has one daughter, Debbie Crawford and her husband Matt; two grandsons, Fielding Crawford and his wife Becky, Drew Crawford and his wife Jenn and one great grandson, Jameson Crawford. Over the years he has enjoyed fishing, golf, and also making and refinishing furniture. He operated "This and That Antiques" until 2005. Buddy has been with Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service since 2007.
