Willie Mack Shaw

Willie Mack Shaw, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, left his temporary home to go to his permanent home in heaven on October 26, 2011.

Mr. Shaw was born on May 14, 1926, in Halifax County, the son of the late Norman Lee Shaw and Annie S. Shaw. He retired from Champion after 44 years of service. Willie was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army from 1950-1952.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Parham Shaw; his son, Chuck Shaw (Luann Edwards); his daughter , Terry Shaw, of the home; his grandson, Joe Shaw (Danielle Patterson) of Roanoke Rapids; his granddaughters, Ashley and Caitlin Shaw and their mother, Cathy Shaw, all from Halifax; one great-granddaughter, Hayley Shaw and her mother, Brandy Lonesky; two sisters: Bonnie S. Storey and Novella S. Deloatch, of Roanoke Rapids; several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. James Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Shaw Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Saturday, October 29, 2011, and other times at the home.
