William Jasper Turner

William Jasper Turner, 65, of 520 Becker Drive, Roanoke Rapids, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Turner was an avid fisherman and loved baseball and gardening.  He also dearly loved caring for his mother.

He was born March 31, 1945, to the late William Turner and to Maggie Newsome Turner Gentry, who survives.

In addition to his mother he is survived by  three brothers: Robert (Bobby) Turner of Roanoke Rapids, Jerry Bogart of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Will Gentry of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and one sister, Patricia Garris, of Ahoskie, N. C.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Turner-Newsome Family Cemetery, Gaston, N. C. at 3 P.M. conducted by Rev. Robert May.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P. M. prior to the funeral at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements.
