Thomas McAdams

Thomas Elton “Big Mac” McAdams, Jr. died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

 

 

He was born December 23, 1946 in Greensville County, Virginia to the late Thomas Elton McAdams, Sr. and Edith C. Bennett McAdams and was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Emmett. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, an avid fisherman, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. McAdams is survived by his wife, Barbara Fucci McAdams of the home; a son, Thomas McAdams, of Roanoke Rapids; daughters Lauri Johnston (Charles) of Roanoke Rapids, Catherine Medlin of Roanoke Rapids, Mary Floyd of Princeton, N.C.; sisters Dianne Harrison of Atlanta, Ga, and Donna Honig of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren Brittany, Haley, Natalie, Nathan, Eric, Sara, and Adam; and a close special friend, Benny Pearson, of Roanoke Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. with Pastor Billy Meinsen officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Bennett Family Cemetery, 2290 Hells Island Road, Triplet Virginia. The family will receive friends at the home, 161 Hamill Street, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. I'm saddened to hear of Tommy's passing. He was an amazing husband, father and friend! I will forever miss coming home to visit and hearing his laugh. If you all need anything I will do what I can from Maryland.
