Richard Sumner Graham

Richard Sumner Graham, 93, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Graham was born April 21, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, OH to the late George Sumner Graham and Cleo Louise Poland.  He was a retired glass worker and United States Air Force veteran.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Wanda Carpenter Graham.

Surviving are his son, David Allen Graham and wife, Ruth Ann, of Columbus, OH and one daughter, Debbie G. Cannon and husband, Tommy, of Roanoke Rapids, NC;  four grandchildren, Cheryl, Christy, Dale, and Stephanie.  Also surviving are nine great grandchildren, Corey, Cheyenne, Tasha, Sierra, Madison, Dakota, Amber, Jade, and Wyatt.

The family will have a graveside service in Ohio at a later date.

I so wanted to attend the Graham's memorial service, however, an appointment will prevent my being there. I was so sorry to hear of their passing. I will always remember them as wonderful neighbors. May God bless the family at this sad time.
