Richard Eugene Christenbury

Richard Eugene Christenbury, 60, of 1434 West Chaloner Drive, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Mr. Christenbury was born June 5, 1950 to the late John Hubert Christenbury and Iva Lee Childress Christenbury.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Dot Addison; brothers: Steve, John and Jim Christenbury: and a half-sister: Bernice Dow.

Mr. Christenbury is survived by his wife: Linda Christenbury; two daughters: Sandra Berg of Raleigh and Kelly Pharis of Cary; five grandchildren: Taylor and Ryan Berg of Raleigh, Madison and Alexis Northup of Raleigh and Caitlyn Pharis of Cary; sister: Janet Sinclair; brothers: Ron Christenbury and his wife Linda of Starr, SC, Kenny Christenbury of Hartwell, GA and David Christenbury of Colonial Heights, VA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. , Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.

Dearest Linda, Sandy, Kelly, Taylor, Caitlyn, Ryan, Madison and Alexis. We are sincerely sorry for your loss. Ric was a good husband, father and PaPa. I want you to know that Steve and I, even though we are unable to be with you, want you to know that we are there right beside you. Ric will be missed and it was our honor to have known such a great man.
