Nellie Johnson Faison

Nellie  Johnson Faison, 78, of Hampton Woods, Jackson, North Carolina, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Born on April 20, 1932 to the late Johnny Johnson and Sally Bett Johnson, she was also preceded in death by her husband,  Melvin Faison, Sr.

She is survived by  her children:  Bobby Johnson of Texas, Stella Finley of Sanford, Florida, Annie Mae Hoell of Robersonville, N. C. Melvin Faison, Jr. of Pleasant Hill, Hazel Russell of Roanoke Rapids, Frank Faison of Washington, N. C., and Linda Potter of Beaufort;  19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Crestview Memorial Cemetery at 11 A.M. conducted by Kenneth Brantley.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, May 21, 2010, from 7 – 8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.
