Mary Hux Rowland

Mary Hux Rowland, 90, formerly of Ohio Street, Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.

 

 

Mrs. Rowland was born December 5, 1919 in Halifax County to the late Dodd and Myra Hux.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband: Willie L. Rowland; Son: Dennis M. Rowland; two sisters and seven brothers.

Mrs. Rowland was a member of Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son: Gerald B. Rowland and his wife Louise of Rocky Mount; daughter: Susan R. Waters and her husband David of Oxford, NC; daughter-in-law: Eileen T. Rowland of Rocky Mount; sister Myrtle Reeves and husband Wiley of Roanoke Rapids; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in the Chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service at 3:00 p.m. with Mark Wesner, Minister officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
