Lillian Faye "Pittard" Harris Brinkley

Lillian Faye “Pittard” Harris Brinkley, 97, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Brinkley was born January 20, 1914 in Halifax County to the late Eckley Blair Harris and Sue Pulley Harris.  She was a homemaker and member of Weaver’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  She loved her family and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Preceding her in death is her husband, Arthur W. “Woodrow” Brinkley; brother, Seldon Pittard; sister, Lucy W. Little; niece, Bessie Schuder, and nephew, Harvey Little.

Surviving are her daughters, Betty B. Freuler, and husband, Randy of Littleton and Carolyn B. Ferguson, and husband, Mike of Emporia, VA; four grandchildren, Alan Freuler, and wife Cathy of Raleigh, Craig Ferguson, Clay Ferguson, and wife Teresa, and Chris Ferguson, all of Emporia, VA;  ten great-grandchildren, Ashley Freuler and friend, David Watts of Raleigh, Hillarly Vincent of Fort Meade, MD, Courtney and Brittany Freuler of Raleigh, Skylar, Tyler, Tori, Haley, and Tucker Ferguson, and Josh Kim, all of Emporia, VA.  Also surviving is a niece, Agnes Atkins and special friend and caregiver, Geneva Vincent.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the funeral home from 3:30-5:00 pm

Funeral services will be Monday, December 12, 2011 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Betty Willis officiating.  Interment will follow in Weaver’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
