Jimmie David "J.D." Wall

Petty Officer First Class Jimmie David “J. D.” Wall, U. S. Navy Retired, died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at University Health Systems Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

He retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years and worked for 20 years at Sears and Owen Electric as a service technician.  He was past commander of General Matt Ransom Camp 861, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and Provost Guard of Mallett’s 19th Battalion until his health declined.  His passionate hobby was living history reenactments.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and brother-in-law.

Mr. Wall was born February 27, 1940, to the late David Ilon Wall and Mattie Louise Wright Wall, and was also predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Louise.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Brown Wall of the home; his daughter: Linda W. Hilterbran, and his son: Richard Andrew Wall both of Leesburg, Ohio; his brother: Thomas Ilon Wall and wife, Anna M., of Louisburg, N. C. ; his grandchildren: Rhiannon Vidourek and her husband Brian, Audra and Jordan Hilterbran; his great-grandchildren: Brandon, Nathan and Caleb Vidourek; his loving Brown Family  brothers-in-laws and sister-in-law; numerous very special nieces and nephews; and his special Boston terrier, “Precious”.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements on Tuesday, December 27 from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M.  and other times at the home, 121 Lakeview Drive.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. Randy Martin.  Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the COPD Foundation, 2937 SW 27th Avenue, Suite 302, Miami, Fl 33133.
