Jessie Davis Shaw

Jessie Davis Shaw, 84, of 5450 Highway 48, Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Guardian Care of Roanoke Rapids.

 

Mr. Shaw was a member of Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church and was a farmer most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe Shaw and Lula Mae Powell Shaw, and his brothers: Woodrow and John Shaw.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Bessie Hawkins Shaw; his daughter, Kathy S. Liles and husband, Edward; his sisters: Iona Rogers, Betty Morris, Sadie King, and Marjorie Shaw, all of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren: Amy Copeland and husband, Jonathan, of Aurelian Springs; James E. Liles and Jessie Brett Liles of Roanoke Rapids; great-grandchild: Briar Copeland, and two step-great-granddaughters: Kasey and Kaley Copeland.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010, at 2:30 P.M. in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service conducted by the Rev. Sid Collins and Rev. Stan Lewis.  Burial will follow in the Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 5, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
