Jessie Champion "Jackie" Roberson

Jessie C. “Jackie” Roberson, 87, formerly of 1036 Jefferson Street, Roanoke Rapids, passed away Friday, April 30, at Liberty Commons of Halifax.

 

 

She was a member of East Tenth Street Church of Christ.

Mrs. Roberson was born September 19, 1922, to the late Edward Champion and Nora Mae Roberts Champion.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Roberson, and two sisters: Marie Wade and Eunice Overton.

She is survived by her son, Brent Roberson and wife, Sandy, of Roanoke Rapids; her sister: Dorothy Mullis, of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren: Jennifer Aycock and husband, Barren, of Littleton, Heather Peedin and husband, Jeffrey, of Rocky Mount, and Ashleigh Roberson of Roanoke Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Crestview Memorial Cemetery on Monday, May 3, 2010, at `11:00 A. M. conducted by David Chapman, minister.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, May 2, 2010, from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements and other times at the home of her son at 142 Valley Drive, Roanoke Rapids.
