James Willis King, Sr.

James Willis King, Sr., 93, of 1120 Oak Grove Church Road, Littleton, died Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.

Mr. King was a member  of Calvary United Methodist Church and retired from J. P. Stevens.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elise Jenkins King whom he married April 15, 1950; his parents, Lucius and Maggie Braswell King; his brother, Eugene King; and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith King.

He is survived by his son, Rev. Jimmy King and wife, Melinda, of Littleton; his brother, Harold King and wife Velda, of Troutville, Virginia; his  grandchildren: Marc King; Luke King and wife, Valerie; Robbie King and wife, Beth; and Lindy Rogerson and husband, Jason, all of Littleton; Shelby Hasty and husband, Mack, of Roanoke Rapids; and Kristina King of Augusta, Georgia; and his great-grandchildren: James, Kyla, Courtney and Camryn King, Paul Rogerson, and Liam Hasty.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 18, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary United Methodist Church.  Rev. Stan Lewis and Rev. Mike Currin will officiate.  Burial will follw in the church cemetery.
