Helen Shirley Harris Moseley

Helen Shirley Harris Moseley, 75, of 42 Yarrow Lane, Roanoke Rapids, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

Mrs. Moseley was a longtime member of Roanoke Rapids Church of God, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was owner and operator of Helen’s Hairstyling Salon.

She was born April 4, 1935, to the late Thomas Wright Harris, Sr. and Ruth Miller Harris.  She was also predeceased by  three brothers: Gene Carlton Harris, Lloyd Kermit Harris, and Thomas Wright Harris, Jr.; five sisters: Mary Brown, Cleo Lyles, Ruby Knopf, Blanche Blewett, and Vickie McClellan.

She is survived by her husband, Morris “Tom” Moseley; her daughters: Linda Mozingo and husband, Glenn of Jackson, NC, Wanda Jean Patrick and husband, Greg, and Susan Patton and husband, Jeff, both of Roanoke Rapids; her sisters: Evelyn Martin of Darlington, Louise Davis of Roanoke Rapids, and JoAnn Watkins and husband, James, of Indiana; her brother, Donnie Harris, of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren: Ashley, Mark and Beth Mozingo; Erica  and Brittany Patrick, Steven and Stephanie Patton and Kenny Poole and wife, Tracy; great-grandchilden: Katlyn Poole, and Denise Walker; her very dear friends, Nelson and Linda Poole.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2010, at 2:00 P. M. at the Roanoke Rapids Church of God, conducted by Rev. Marvin Wiggins. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 19, 2010, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation and other times at the home of her daughter Wanda Patrick, 111 Bald Eagle Drive, Roanoke Rapids.
