Harold Lynn "Lynnie" Tayman

Harold Lynn “Lynnie” Tayman, 68, of Washington, D.C., died August 29, 2011 after a long and brave battle with cancer.  He passed at his beloved log cabin in Littleton, NC.

Lynnie was born October 29, 1942 and raised in Washington, D.C.  He attended Suitland High School and made dear friends whose friendship continued throughout his life.  He served with distinction as a member of the United States Navy.  After a long fulfilling career in plumbing, he retired from M&M Welding as a project manager.

Lynnie enjoyed his Washington Redskins and hosting a pig roast in Brandywine for his family and friends.  An avid golfer, he was a long time member of Myrick Hills Country Club.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Tayman, his sisters and spouses, JoAnn and Douglas Lashley and Sue and Kenny Tillett, his children and spouses, Allen and Debbie Tayman, Richard Tayman and Karen Moss, and Mandy and Kenny Stepp; grandchildren, Kendall and Connor Tayman, and Chloe Tayman, and his nephew and spouse, Timmy and Kathleen Tillett and grandnephew, Timothy Tillett.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 4-6 pm.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.  Funeral services will be from 1– 3 pm also at Lee Funeral Home following the visistation.

Interment will be Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 am in Cheltenham Cemetery.

I am thinking of you and your family at this time. Lynnie was a special man, and will be missed by many. I'm glad he walked across a path of my life. Marcia Allsbrook(frien d of Gene Draper).

With Lynn being one of my older cousins, I didn't spend as much time with him as others, but I always enjoyed the times that I did. He was always full of life! I pray for God's comforting presence for your loss.
