Garrett "Cliff" Walker

Garrett “Cliff” Walker, 80 of Roanoke Rapids died Friday, April 15, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Walker was born October 27, 1930 in Halifax County to the late Garrett Walker and Pearl Mabrey Walker.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lolita Walker and his brothers, Joe and Aubrey Walker.

He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. Walker is survived by two sister-in-laws: Evelyn Walker and Christine Walker; four nephews: Bobby Walker and his wife Nancy, James (Lucky) Walker and his wife Cheryl, Garrett Walker and his wife Jane and Aubrey Walker, Jr. and his wife Lisa; three great nieces: Susan Etheridge and her husband Albert, Alissa Walker and Elizabeth Walker; five great nephews: Randy Walker and wife Lisa, Scott Walker and wife Kristy, Joe Walker and his wife Shannon, Jason Walker and Charles Walker.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Speight officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
