Frank Lonesky, Sr.

Frank Lonesky, Sr. , 83, of 335 Jefferson Street died Monday, January 16, 2012, at McGuire Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Mr. Lonesky was a member of Calvary Baptist Church , the last charter member of the AmVets Post 320, and American Legion Shaw-May Post.  He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean War, and retired from the Bibb Company as a Loom Fixer with 29 years of service.

He was born March 27, 1928, to the late Nicholas Lonesky and Mary Zayoc Lonesky and was also preceded in death  by his wife of 54 years, Lucy Marian DeBerry Lonesky; his sisters: Theresa, Anna  and Mary;  his brothers: Walter, Joseph, Charles, Michael, and John.

He is survived by his children: Debbie Buckner (Jeff), Cindy McDaniel (Edwin),  Frank, Jr. (Hope) and Kevin (Judy Bonney); his grandchildren: Jennifer, Susan, Brandy, Kyle, Nicholas, Joey, and Justin; his great-grandchildren: Austin, Hunter, Hayley and Alexis; his siblings: Katherine Brunner of Bellwood, PA, Rose Downey, Bristol; Helen Downey of Jackson, Ohio, Stella Wood of Altoona, PA, Nicholas of Sellersville, PA, Christinia Lyon of Frederick, MD, and James Lonesky of Blandburg, PA; his brother-in-law, Grady DeBerry, Sr. ; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special puppy,  Princess.

Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. Randy Martin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements, and other times at his home, 335 Jefferson Street.

Very sorry to hear (belatedly) about Frank. A great human being; a fine gentleman. My condolences to his family. He will be missed. We'll be thinking of you, Frank.

I continue to pray for you all. Your dad was a precious man. He was so cute and one of the kindest men I have ever met. I would always get a hug and kiss from him everytime I saw him. Such a good man. I love you all!

My consolences go out to Mr. Lonesky's family. He was such a sweet man and when I was store manager at The Store Next Door on 5th Street he would always come in everyday and talk. He will be missed. Prayers will be with all of you.
