Edward Van Wilson

Edward Van Wilson, 83, of 3031 S. Highway 48, Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at Guardian Care of Roanoke Rapids. 

Mr Wilson was the son of the late Claud and Clause Mitchell Wilson.  Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Marie Wilson; his daughters: Connie Wilson and Gloria Hollowell; his grandson, Kenneth Bailey, II, and his great-grandson, Chance Stanley.

 

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Moore Wilson; his daughters: Jean Stanley Pilkington, Kay Bailey, and Shawn (Mike) Haislip; his sons: Lynn Harris, Larry Wilson, and Jimmy Wilson; his grandchildren: Boogie (Karen) Johnson, Troy (Jane) Johnson, Eddie (Sara) Wilson, Brandy Wilson, Marvin Stanley, II, Nikki Stanley and fiance, Reginald McLean; Shannon (Stevens) Hobbs, Kristopher Harris, Todd Harris, Justin Harris, Jessica Bailey, Amber Haislip, Miranda Haislip, Tammy Hollowell, Paul Hollowell, Jr., and Timmy Hollowell; his great-grandchildren: Autumn Hobbs, Krystal Stanley, Taylor Harris, Kamryn Stanley, Sarah Stanley, Gabreal Stanley, Brandon Tanner, Kaitlyn Johnson, and Caleb Crawford.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Greg Short officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 7 to 9 PM, and other times at the home.  Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be sent to www.hockadayfs.com.
