Pro Lewis was a mentor and a god sent to a lot of boys in Roanoke Rapids. As a fellow scouter, he brought light and guidance to me as I grew up within his leadership.

Your family is in my prayers and may God give you peace during this time of sorrow.

I am sorry to hear of the death of Pro Lewis. I was so glad to be able to see him at Roanoke Baptist Church's 50th Anniversary in September. The family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Pro Lewis was a good man and a good Scouter as well. He was always there for the boys and lived by the Scout Oath and Law daily.

During his retirement party from Scouting, he seemed happy to have so many Scouters and former Scouts/Scouters in attendance. It was a proud moment for many TR II leaders to see a man that had given so much to Scouting - receive a grand celebration.

He will be missed but he will be remembered by all those adults and boys that he helped.
