Pro was married to Sybel Lee Lewis and was the son of the late Casper and Pauline Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William B. Lewis.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children: his son, Paul Lewis and wife, Jane Cook Lewis, and his daughter, Kimberly Lewis Kincaid and husband, H. B. Kincaid; his brother, Carlon Lewis and wife, Eva Meadows Lewis and two children: Donna Phillips and husband, John, and Rob Lewis; three nephews: Mike Lewis, Marshall Lewis and Ronnie Lewis; a niece, Jenny Lewis; three granddaughters: Heather Alford and husband, Ronnie, Kelcey Kincaid and Dixie Lee Lewis; one great-granddaughter: Kadelyn Alyssa Alford.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 2:00 P.M., at Roanoke Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery with Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 5:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, and other times at the home: 417 Starke Drive in Roanoke Rapids.

During his retirement party from Scouting, he seemed happy to have so many Scouters and former Scouts/Scouters in attendance. It was a proud moment for many TR II leaders to see a man that had given so much to Scouting - receive a grand celebration.
He will be missed but he will be remembered by all those adults and boys that he helped.
