Doris Kathleen Williams

Doris Kathleen Williams, 81, of 420 Jefferson Street, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at home.

Mrs. Williams was born November 1, 1929 in Halifax County to the late Willie Floyd Edwards and Thelma Hudson Edwards. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Edwards.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the perfect perfectionist, she could do it all. She was a member of Rosemary United Methodist Church and was a beautician for over forty years.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Norman Williams of the home; two sons, Wayne Williams and wife Susan and Randy Williams and wife Dee of Roanoke Rapids; daughter, Norma Murphy and husband Keith of Wilmington; brother, Floyd Lucious “Poochie” Jones of Newport News, VA; sister, Nancy Askew of Henderson, NC; four grandchildren, Mehgan Murphy, Nicole Baird, Paul Kinnin, III and Lauren Williams; great granddaughter, Savanna Kinnin.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 17, 2011 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Bobby Turner officiating.

I am so sorry for your GREAT LOSS. I, Monica R. Tulloch was once a nieghber of Mr. and Mrs. Williams. They were such a Loving and Giving couple. Our prayers are with the Family.
