David Aaron Lyles

Mr. David Aaron Lyles, 75, of 104 Monroe Street, Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

 

 

Mr. Lyles was born March 12, 1935, to the late Rupert Lyles and Mattie Vaughan Lyles.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Brickhouse, a stepson, Earl Parker, Jr., a brother Samuel (S. T.) Lyles, and a grandson, Jamie Brickhouse.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Dixon Lyles, of the home; two sons: Kelly Lyles and Travis Lyles of Roanoke Rapids; two daughters: Mattie Tanner of Roanoke Rapids, and Donna; a step-daughter: Carol Brickhouse of Moyock, N. C.; his brothers: Maynard Lyles, Rupert “Jr.” Lyles, Gene Watts, Jesse Watts, Walter Watts, and Wilbur Watts; his grandchildren: Alton Brickhouse, Stephanie Warren, Charles Tanner and Jacob Lyles; two great-grandchildren: Jay Warren and Hunter Warren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 3:00 P.M. at the Roanoke Rapids Church of God, conducted by Rev. Marvin Wiggins.  Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial  Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements, on Friday, April 30, 2010, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M.
