Carolyn Rae Mitchell

Carolyn Pittman Mitchell passed away Tuesday December 20, 2011 at her home in Raleigh NC.

 

She was born January 23, 1944 in Whitakers NC, and was a long time resident of Gaston, NC. She was proceeded in death by her husband William “Bump” Mitchell, her father and mother Frank and Mary Pittman, and three sisters; Ms. Nettie Pittman, Mrs. Maggie Simmons, and Mrs. Lillie Bell Spence.

 

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who lived life as a free spirit, and only saw the good in everyone she met. She never judged and accepted everyone for who they were. Today “God’s” garden has received the most beautiful flower of all. She will be missed beyond words.

 

Surviving are her two sons: William “Toot” Mitchell III and Sandy R. Mitchell of the home; Daughters: Kandy Dwedari of Raleigh, NC and Mary S. Mitchell of Thomasville, NC; her Brother: William “Buck” Pittman of Gaston, NC; Grand children: Douglas H. Franklin III, Michael P. Mitchell, William C. Allen, and James “Robert” Allen; Great Grand Children, Nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends and have a celebration of Carolyn’s life on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
