Carolyn Parham Peterson

Carolyn Parham Peterson, 67, of 1316 Hamilton Street, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at her home.


She was retired from Halifax Regional Medical Center after 20 years as a registered nurse in the Emergency Room.  She had a great love of life and laughter and had her own special way with people.

 

 

She also dearly loved animals.

She was preceded in death by her Mama and Daddy, Elizabeth and Forest Parham; two brothers: Willard and Payton Parham, and a sister, Nancy Ruth Pleasant.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Peterson; her daughter, Donna Bailey and husband, Robbie, of Roanoke Rapids; two grandsons: Stephen Stone of Roanoke Rapids, and Rocky Stone and wife, Samantha; and great-grandson, Fletcher, all from Oxnard, California; a sister: Patricia Shaw and husband, Willie; special niece, Terri Shaw, and many nieces and nephews , cousins, and many, many friends, and all the many animals she loved so much and never turned away.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 27, 2009, at Cedarwood Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. Maurice Wheat.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 26, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements.

Memorial gifts may be given to the American Humane Society.

The family would like to thank the Community Home Health & Hospice and all the doctors and nurses at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
