Benjamin Oliver Brown

Benjamin Oliver Brown, 57, died Monday, December 07, 2009, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

 




 

 

 

 

 

He was born to the late Robert Lee Brown, Sr. and Thelma Acrey Brown and was also predeceased by his grandparents, Benjamin Lewis and Virgie Odom Brown and John Henry and Ethel Little Acrey.  Raised in the Chockyotte community, he was a loving husband and brother who loved his family, his pet Pomeranian April, hunting, and being outdoors.  He never met a stranger.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joanne S. Brown of the home, his siblings Thelma B. Bowen and her husband Grover, of Robersonville, N.C., Robert Lee Brown, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, Douglas M. Brown and his wife, Peggy, Barbara B. Wall and her husband, Jimmie, and John C. Brown, all of Roanoke Rapids; Marshall K. Brown and his wife, Becky, of Emporia, Virginia; Howard R. Brown of Weldon, N.C., Larry W. Brown and his wife, Laura, of Seaboard, N.C., and David K. Brown and his wife, Lisa, of Weldon, N. C.; a number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews; a special uncle, Rudy Gibson, and a special aunt, Mabel V. Brown. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, from 7:30-9:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, who is handling the arrangements, and at other times at 404 Summitt Avenue.  Online condolences can be made at www.hockadayfs.com.

to the brown family my condolences to all in this time of grief . its been many years since i left weldon but allways remember such friends and neighbors as the browns . my self and cornelious send our prayers to be with you all . god bless , bill baxley
