Alice Mae King Pridgen Bobbitt

Alice Mae King Pridgen Bobbitt, 87 of 1421 East Chaloner Drive, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Bobbitt  was born April 25, 1923 in Warren County to the late Vester King and Edythe I. Huckstep King. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands: Joseph Vernon Pridgen and Joseph N. Bobbitt, Jr; three brothers: Anderson King, Edgar King and Harry King; two daughters: Infant Daughter and Sheila D. Pritchard;

Mrs. Bobbitt was a member of East 10th Street Church of Christ since 1957. She graduated from Roanoke Rapids Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 25 years.

Mrs. Bobbitt is survived by a step daughter: Kathryn B. Smith of Charleston, SC; Granddaughter: Bridgette Ann Mertens and her husband Joseph Charles Mertens.

Graveside  Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Cedarwood Cemetery with Dave Chapman, Minister officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, 2010 from 7-8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
